The blue z wouldn't have been possible without the help of Peter Cochetas, Randy, Eric, and the rest of the crew at Dragon Race Engineering, my friends at and the indulgence of my wonderful wife, Kathy.

My Blue Z currently has a fully forged 355 LT1 with 4-bolt splayed mains, Eagle crank, Ross blower pistons, h-beam rods, cloyes timing chain, Melling high volume oil pump and Canton racing pan. The top-end starts with CNC stage III heads with 64cc chambers and has a Schneider custom blower-grind cam, Extreme Duty 1.6 roller rockers and a Holley 58mm throttle body. The intake is charged with an ATI Procharger D-1SC pushing 14# of boost through a giant Spearco intercooler. It has a Geddy type-R wastegate and cog drive. I'm running the LTCC LS-1 coil ignition. Check out the results of the last dyno run. 632 hp at 6350 and 553 tq at 5900! The torque comes on immediately and stays level throughout the power band and the horsepower just continues to climb.

The power is put to the ground by a Art Carr-prepped 4L60E with a YanK SS 3600 stall convertor turning a Lingenfelter 3-1/2" aluminum driveshaft into the Moser 12-bolt rearend. The Moser has 33-spline axles and a Spohn Extreme Duty Torque Arm with driveshaft loop and Spohn LCA relocation brackets. PA k-member, BMR upper/Global West adjustable lower control arms fitted with HAL QA1 drag shocks and springs are on the front and QA1s and base-model Camaro springs are on the rear. The rest of the suspension includes weld-in BMR subframe connectors, Wolfe 6-point roll cage and a BMR adjustable panhard rod.

Hooker Longtube headers flow into a Hooker y-pipe that mates to the Borla stainless steel exhaust system. The Excide battery has been relocated to the trunk. The fuel system is a Racetronix GSS340M Fuel Pump, Booster Harness and Procharger in-line pump. I've deleted the ABS and added a line lock. I just finished doing a total cooling system upgrade.
